Integrated Design Engineering Assessment and Learning System (IDEALS)

In a complex, shrinking world, addressing critical societal needs requires innovative professional and technical competence. IDEALS assessments and instructional materials facilitate the learning and assessment of both professional skills and design practices. In the context of team-based design projects, IDEALS helps students to think critically, draw from previous knowledge, explore new ideas, and learn from challenges - all vital skills for professional and personal advancement.

IDEALS provides web-based formative and summative assessments for engineering design courses and projects. Formative assessments display student understanding and enable instructor feedback on learning and performance. Summative assessments elicit high-performance responses that instructors score - useful for evaluating student performance or program achievements.
